As with most artists, I do paintings on commission. I can paint most anything in either oils or acrylics. I do mostly realistic art, but have been known to do some impressionistic and surrealistic images. I do stray away from portrait work but have included people in my art, such as "Mother's Day" and "Young American". I enjoy painting landscapes, still life, seascapes, waterfowl, wildlife, fire department and police scenes and will be completing some golf paintings for 1999.
A painting can range from 18 X 24 and up. Depending on the size and subject matter requested, a painting can range from $750.00 to $15,000.00 and up. I can arrange to have the painting framed or ship it unframed. There is additional cost on framing depending upon choice.
With any commission half of the agreed price is requested prior to the painting actually being executed. It must be understood that creating a painting takes time. I usually have several commissions I am occupied with so it is on a first come first served basis. When you contact me, and discuss the project, you will be advised how long the specific painting will take so plan way ahead on your project.
I also can arrange prints to be made, signed and numbered of your requested commission, in whatever edition size requested. This can be a special edition just for your company or personal gifts for your friends. Printing an edition is a separate issue and can be part of the commission or a separate project later. When creating prints, I personally oversee the project from image cropping, print layout, sheet layout, prepress preparation, typesetting, printing, trimming, signing and packing.
An original painting can take from two weeks to six months depending on present information regarding the subject matter being available or any research needed. Size of the painting and amount of detail is also a time factor. Getting from painting to print is also a time factor. It takes a minimum of a month to go from image completion to the day of printing when it is done properly. Time of the year is also a factor when scheduling printing. All prints are done on 80-100 lb. cover stock, with acid free museum quality paper. Edition sizes can range from as low as 100 prints to 2000 or more. Poster prints can be made in an unlimited amount upon request. Please contact me for any additional questions.
